The Mobile Electromagnetic Filter is a portable magnetic filtration system designed to reduce iron-containing and weakly magnetic impurities found in ceramic glaze, porcelain slip, and similar aqueous processes. It has been developed to provide practical use particularly in glaze tanks, slip preparation areas, or at different production points.
In ceramic and porcelain production, iron-containing particles in the glaze and slip can cause black spots, discoloration, and certain surface defects after firing. The Mobile Electromagnetic Filter helps reduce such magnetic impurities, contributing to more stable product quality.
The system creates a strong magnetic field using a specially copper-wound electromagnetic coil. The glaze or slip is passed through the matrix section inside the filter with the help of a pump. The magnetic field concentrates on the matrix, helping to capture fine, iron-containing particles with magnetic susceptibility within the product.
Filtration performance can vary depending on product density, viscosity, flow rate, particle size, magnetic field strength, matrix structure, and cleaning frequency. Therefore, suitable operating conditions should be determined according to the specific product and process characteristics.
Thanks to its mobile structure, the electromagnetic filter can be transported and used between different tanks, production lines, or process points. This feature provides an advantage especially in applications that do not require a fixed system installation, in periodic quality control work, or in the re-processing of glaze in specific tanks.
The system can be used together with a diaphragm pump, control panel, matrix section, and the necessary connection equipment, depending on process requirements.
The matrix section of the Mobile Electromagnetic Filter should be cleaned at regular intervals. Magnetic particles accumulated on the matrix can reduce filtration performance over time. Cleaning should be carried out after the system has been stopped and the necessary occupational safety precautions have been taken.
Cleaning frequency is determined according to the amount of iron contamination in the product, product density, viscosity, operating time, and process targets. Regular cleaning helps maintain the separation performance of the system.
The Industrial Mobile Electromagnetic Filter (Portable WHGMS) is a heavy-duty, skid-mounted high-gradient magnetic separation unit. It utilizes a powerful electromagnetic coil to extract microscopic, weakly magnetic (paramagnetic) iron impurities from ceramic glazes, clay slips, and chemical slurries. Being mobile, it can be wheeled directly to any tank or process line in the factory.
It is highly sought after in the sanitaryware, porcelain, and ceramic tile industries. Instead of installing a fixed, expensive filter on every single glaze tank, factories can purchase one high-power mobile unit and wheel it between different storage vats, mixing tanks, and application lines to purify batches on demand.
The pressure vessel is packed with a proprietary stainless-steel wool matrix. When the external coil is energized (generating up to 10,000–15,000 Gauss), the matrix becomes highly magnetic, creating millions of sharp micro-magnetic gradients. As the viscous glaze is pumped through, these gradients trap microscopic iron oxides (hematite), eliminating black spots in the fired ceramics.
Cleaning is fast and semi-automated. The operator shuts off the slurry pump and turns the electromagnet OFF. With the magnetic field at zero, the iron sludge releases from the matrix. The operator then flushes the vessel with high-pressure water (backwash), sending the concentrated iron waste safely to the drain before moving to the next tank.
Absolutely. The entire system—including the pressure vessel, control cabinet, and optional slurry pump—is mounted on a heavy-duty, epoxy-coated or stainless-steel chassis with large industrial caster wheels. The electrical panel is IP65 rated, fully protecting the internal transformer and rectifier from high-pressure water washdowns.
Yes. The onboard B2B control panel features variable DC voltage control (via a potentimeter or PLC). The operator can dial the magnetic field down for highly magnetic slurries (to prevent matrix clogging) or dial it up to maximum power to extract extreme trace-level paramagnetic impurities from high-grade white glazes.
Yes, we provide complete turnkey B2B solutions. We can custom-engineer the mobile skid to include integrated pneumatic diaphragm pumps (air pumps), custom matrix densities based on your slurry's viscosity, and specific hose connections (Tri-Clamp, Kamlok) for rapid plug-and-play operation across your plant.
