Magnetic Plate magnets are highly cost-effective, robust, and versatile magnetic separation solutions, renowned for their powerful magnetic fields. These characteristics make them exceptionally suitable for efficiently separating medium to large ferrous particles from a wide array of feedstock streams, ensuring product purity and protecting downstream machinery.
The operational principle of magnetic plates is straightforward yet highly effective. Positioned strategically within a product flow, these powerful magnets generate an intense magnetic field that penetrates the material stream. As ferrous contaminants, ranging from tramp iron to smaller metal fragments, pass through this field, they are irresistibly drawn to the surface of the magnetic plate. The contaminants adhere firmly to the magnet, effectively removing them from the product flow and preventing them from causing damage or compromising product quality.
One of the significant advantages of magnetic plates is their adaptability for integration into existing production lines without extensive modifications. The design allows for flexible installation methods, ensuring optimal contaminant removal regardless of the product handling system.
They can be easily installed in your existing lines. The magnetic plates can be hung on a conveyor belt, attached to the wall of product flow line channels, or mounted under a passing product flow.
Magnetic Plate magnets are also the most preferred magnetic separators in our magnetic separator systems for relatively coarse product flows and higher capacities, demonstrating their reliability in demanding environments.
For example, Magnetic Plates are cost-effective and powerful magnets used to capture ferrous (ferromagnetic) particles at key points along a production line: above the feed belt, on the wall of a free-falling pipeline or beside a falling product flow, underneath horizontally moving product flows, and in chutes or cascaded impingement lines. Their strategic placement ensures comprehensive protection across various stages of material processing, from initial receiving to final packaging.
The performance of plate magnets is largely determined by the type of magnetic material used. Plate magnets are made of Neodymium or ferrite magnets, each offering distinct advantages:
Furthermore, the maintenance of these separators is streamlined through various cleaning options. Plate magnets can be produced as manual cleaning (by hand or by scraping with an apparatus) or Automatic Cleaning:
Magnetic plates represent an indispensable solution for ensuring the purity and integrity of various product streams. Their robust design, powerful magnetic capabilities, and flexible installation options make them a cornerstone in industries ranging from food processing and pharmaceuticals to mining and recycling. By effectively removing harmful ferrous contaminants, magnetic plates not only safeguard sensitive machinery from damage but also uphold the quality and safety standards of the final product, proving their value as an essential component in any processing line.
Industrial Magnetic Plates are heavy-duty, flat magnetic blocks installed flush in the bottom of inclined gravity chutes or suspended above conveyor belts. They project a deep, powerful magnetic field to arrest and extract heavy tramp iron (bolts, nuts, heavy wire) from free-flowing bulk materials, protecting downstream crushers.
They are ubiquitous in aggregate crushing, wood recycling (MDF), animal feed milling, sugar refining, and plastic extrusion plants. They are the most robust, cost-effective first line of defense against catastrophic machinery damage caused by large iron debris.
When bulk material (like heavy grain or wood chips) slides down an inclined chute, a Magnetic Plate installed flush in the floor of the chute is highly effective. The material naturally flows over the magnetic face, and heavy iron, which tends to sink to the bottom of the flow, is aggressively pulled down and locked against the plate.
Depending on the burden depth of your material, we engineer plates with massive Anisotropic Ferrite blocks (for deep penetration up to 150mm–200mm to catch large iron) or extreme Rare-Earth Neodymium (to catch fine iron wear dust from shallow, high-speed flows).
Absolutely. Designed for brutal B2B environments, the magnetic core is fully encapsulated in heavy-gauge AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel. For highly abrasive applications (like quarry rocks), the impact face is reinforced with raised stainless-steel diverter strips, steps, or thick manganese wear plates to prevent severe abrasion.
Standard plates require the operator to physically scrape the iron off with a heavy glove. However, for B2B efficiency, we offer "Easy-Clean" models. These feature a hinged, stainless-steel stripper plate over the magnet. The operator simply swings the stripper plate away from the magnetic core, and the iron safely falls off into a bin.
Yes, we provide full B2B custom engineering. We can manufacture heavy-duty plate magnets to any width (e.g., from 200 mm up to massive 2000 mm widths), complete with pre-drilled heavy-duty mounting hinges and latches, ensuring a perfect, fluid-tight retrofit into your factory's existing chutes.
